USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS COURSE

Are you interested in becoming a USCCA Certified Instructor? Are you a natural born teacher or instructor? Are you good with guns? Do you love firearms and love to teach others what you know? The USCCA can help you to become a great United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) Certified Instructor.

USCCA Instructor Candidates (ICs) complete a two-part certification process. Phase One is a one-day (self-paced) eLearning session. Phase Two is two days of collaborative learning and instructor presentation in the classroom and live-fire on the range.

Instruction will include a review of instructor best (and worst) practices, discussion on important adult learning considerations, a review of the Instructor Toolkit and learning strategies to maximize delivery of multi-media materials. ICs will also be introduced to technology aids used by professional and LEO firearm instructors.

Out-of-town attendees may contact Michael for reasonable lodging recommendations. Bottled water and snacks are provided; ICs should be prepared to bring their lunch or utilize one of the many nearby restaurants.

Note: This is NOT a shooting intensive course. ICs are expected to arrive able to demonstrate proficiency as a defensive shooter. No exceptions. All ICs will be evaluated on individual readiness to complete the USCCA Course of Fire and to conduct both virtual and Live Fire range exercises.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Unlike the other basic courses, the Personal Protection course covers defensive shooting. Self-defense is a topic somewhat distinct from the regular diet of shooting fundamentals, it can cover mindset, legal issues, decision-making under pressure, and planning for the worst. The Personal Protection in the Home course is designed around the use of the defensive pistol.  The Course Goal is “To develop in the students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right to self-defense.”

Students will receive the NRA 'Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection in the Home' handbook and intensive lessons on basics of defensive shooting, issues of self-defense, and other strategies for protecting the home and family.

            PERSONAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE THE HOME

This course is comprehensive and intensive in its approach to equip the defensive shooting candidate with the skills needed to survive serious adversity.

The course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.
